Console Phasmophobia will be delayed until October

The developers from Kinetic Games were going to release the online horror game Phasmophobia on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series in August. However, the studio’s plans have changed: the new release window is from October 24th to October 31st.

Recently, there was a fire in the office building, where the authors of Phasmophobia are working. According to the team, the incident led to unforeseen difficulties and “significantly impacted” its capabilities. Kinetic claims that the extra time will allow them to polish the game properly.

As a reminder, console versions of Phasmophobia will boast cross-play support. In addition, on PS5 it will be possible to get scared in the PlayStation VR2 helmet.

Horror launched in 2020 on Steam’s Early Access, where it still resides. You and three other daredevils are invited to try your hand as paranormal investigators. The task – to collect evidence of the existence of the ghost and at the same time not to become his victim.

It’s unfortunate to hear about the fire incident at Kinetic Games, but safety and quality come first. I appreciate the team’s dedication to polishing Phasmophobia for console release. Looking forward to braving the paranormal in October!

While the delay is disappointing, it’s good to know that Kinetic Games is prioritizing quality. The prospect of cross-play and PlayStation VR2 support is exciting. I’ll be ready to confront the supernatural in late October!
