Lovecraftian retro-shooter Forgive Me Father is out on consoles

Fulqrum Publishing and Polish studio Byte Barrel have announced the release of Forgive Me Father on PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.

You will go to crush creatures in a spooky world inspired by the works of Howard Lovecraft – you are waiting for occultism, ancient evil and the atmosphere of hopelessness. There are two protagonists to choose from – a journalist and a priest, each with their own tree of power-ups.

Forgive Me Father borrows many elements from classic shooters – life points and health kits, levels with a combination of 2D and 3D, hordes of enemies and weapons that do not need to be reloaded. From the unusual for the genre – stylization of graphics under the comic book, as well as the mechanics of madness, affecting the picture, sound and gameplay.

Forgive Me Father takes us on a Lovecraftian journey filled with cosmic horrors and ancient evils. I’m intrigued by the choice between a journalist and a priest as protagonists, each with their unique power-up paths. The blend of classic shooter elements with the stylized comic book graphics and mechanics of madness promises a truly unique gaming experience.
